Mr Lupton is set to swerve the John Guest Racing Bengough Stakes at Ascot on Saturday and wait for the Coral Sprint Trophy at York on October 10.

The hardy Richard Fahey-trained sprinter ran a tremendous race to finish third behind Nahaarr in the Ayr Gold Cup – just six days after the seven-year-old bagged a valuable six-furlong handicap at the Curragh.

“He’s in good order. He’s in at the weekend, but I’ll probably keep him for the handicap in York,” said Fahey.

“I was pleased with him at Ayr.”
