Classic winner Billesdon Brook is poised to step up in trip for her next start, with the Qatar Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood under consideration.
The Qipco 1000 Guineas heroine could not quite repeat her Newmarket performance in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, although she was far from disgraced in fourth place behind runaway winner Alpha Centauri.
Trainer Richard Hannon told At The Races: “I was a little disappointed, I’m not going to deny that, she never really got in the race or had that ‘whoosh’ like she did at Newmarket.
“There’s a fair chance (step up in trip), yes – we’ll probably put her in the Nassau (over 10 furlongs) and go from there.
“She ran her race without that ‘whoosh’, she gained ground all the way to the line and I’m very proud of her – she won the war, lost the battle.
“She’s a Classic winner.”
