Verdict

Lord Riddiford was an impressive winner at Beverley when last sighted but it takes a big performance to win these novice races under a penalty. He's entitled to have improved again, but preference is for ELITE SHADOW, who made a debut full of promise at Yarmouth when outrunning odds of 66-1. Better is expected second time up and his supporters will be pleased to see Martin Harley keep the partnership intact. Iconic Knight is another to take seriously.

Verdict

LORD RIDDIFORD was a ready winner at Beverley in May, and appeals as the type to go on improving, so is taken to defy a penalty. Elite Shadow only found one too good at Yarmouth last week and is entitled to progress, while Ivy Leaguer should give another good account.
